Congratulations on your choice of workwear!
We established Medanta in the year 2008, after wondering why hospital clothes were so impractical and light years behind the development of other textiles, such as sportswear. Today, our clothes combine health technologies with design. They are flexible, breathable, pleasant and nice-looking. Horrible hospital gowns are a thing of the past.
Medanta Flex
62% polyester
35% cotton
3% spandex
Withstands industrial washing.
Our Medanta Flex -material is developed to withstand hard wear and tear for professionals who use the clothing every day. That is why the fabric breathes and stretches, allowing the user full range of movement and comfort. This material is antimicrobial like all of our materials. Antimicrobial coating forms an active, antibacterial surface on the fabric and further increases comfort by removing unwanted odours.
Washing
All of our textiles have a product-specific Washing Guide, but here are a few more tips to extend the life of your workwear.
The first wash softens the surface of your new textile and at the same time improves its comfort.
Too low a washing temperature or soaking dyed Textiles is always risky. Choosing the right temperature will remove any loose color that may still be in the fabric, so wash your clothes according to the product-specific washing instructions and for the first time at least 60 °.
Remember to wash light, dark and heavily dyed textiles separately. We recommend that very dirty laundry is also washed separately and that heavily lint-free textiles are not combined with woven materials in the same wash.
Avoid overfilling the washing machine. Crowding may cause permanent creases in the textile. Your clothes will also not be cleaned properly because they will not be able to move in sufficiently loose water in a cramped space.
Hand washing is not more gentle than machine washing, so we always recommend machine washing, unless otherwise stated in the product-specific washing instructions.
Stains should be removed immediately. Separate stain removal should be done before washing.
In detergents, we recommend avoiding bleaching effects and other oxidizing agents such as detergents and bleaches containing sodium hypochlorite and hydrogen peroxide. For bleaching white textiles, we recommend enzyme-containing washing bleaches.
Drying and Ironing
The Washing Instructions for some of our products do not allow tumble drying. The products can withstand it, but tumble drying shortens the life of your clothes unnecessarily. If you straighten your clothes immediately after washing, you will avoid ironing. However, if ironing is necessary, we recommend that you iron the clothes on the wrong side.
Other tips
Empty the pockets and close the zippers before washing. If you still grind your clothes inside out before washing, its colors will stay fresh for longer.
Our manufacturing
We strive to minimize the impact of the environment when producing our fabrics. We utilize recycled raw materials. Thanks to new technologies, we consume less water than usual. Our dyes and treatments are also safe for the user.
All of Medanta’s materials are produced responsibly in factories that comply with the guidelines of the International Labour Organization (ILO)
Since October 2019, all of the cotton used in Medanta’s materials has been purchased through the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) platform. This means that the cotton has been produced responsibly – more sustainably than conventional cotton in terms of social, economic and environmental responsibility.
Antimicrobial coating. Is it safe for the environment and the user?
The antimicrobial treatment is applied during the manufacturing stage of the fabrics. The treatment is based on silver ion technology and does not impair the properties of the clothes.
Our antimicrobial finish is a permanent anti-microbial preservative finish for all fibre types, especially suitable for textiles worn next to the skin. It is a non-migrating bactericidal which means the ions will not adhere to the users’ skin nor is it harmful for the environment.
The product is registered under EU norms:
- Bluesign® APPROVED
- Registered according to the European biocide product regulation in Germany: N-71726
- BfR*-registration card No.: 8119794
- EPA*-registration No.: 84189-1
- Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX
According to research, the Medanta Flex fabric completely (100%) prevents Staphylococcus aureus bacteria from adhering to and multiplying on the surface of the fabric. This was found in a study conducted by Medanta in accordance with the SFS-EN ISO 20743 standard in 2019 and 2020.
All Medanta fabrics are antimicrobial. The antimicrobial treatment has been proven to endure 100 industrial washes at a high temperature. Our antimicrobial fabric is also resistant to yellowing.
